Governance Services Manager


Hours:      36 hours per week

Location:  Old Park, Telford (Hybrid)

Salary:      £54,744 per annum

The Role:

The successful candidate will lead the Governance Team and support the Head of Legal Services to ensure that we have robust governance processes in place across our group of companies, that represent best practice, and enable Wrekin to comply with a range of requirements, including the NHF Code of Governance and the Governance and Financial Viability Standard.

The postholder will support Board Members to be successful in their roles, ensuring they are recruited, inducted, trained and supported to deliver their best and managing the day to day relationship with them. You will support the team to provide high quality administrative support to both the Group Board and its associated Committees and to the Executive Management Team.

You will play a key role in ensuring Wrekin continues to achieve full compliance with all our regulatory standards and requirements, including preparing for future successful IDAs and keeping abreast of emerging changes including around the Social Housing Regulation Bill

What you will need:

Ideally you will have previous experience in the social housing sector providing senior secretarial; governance and management administration services.   You will have a strong working knowledge of charity governance, company and charity laws and experience of working with Trustee or similar Boards.  The successful candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and influence at a senior level and with considerable experience of managing and leading staff.    

It is essential that the successful candidate can evidence continued professional development, with part or fully qualified membership of ICSA.
