Hours of Work: 20 hours available covering a 7 day rota

Salary: £9.83 per hour, plus benefits

The Role:

As a Night Support Worker you will become a key part of a team to deliver care and support to residents living in our extra care schemes. This is an immensely rewarding role, enabling people to live independently and ensuring they get full enjoyment and fulfilment out of living in their ShireLiving or supported housing apartment.

You will work within a team to read, follow and implement individual support plans and risk assessments, assist people with their night time routine and personal care to help people live as independently as possible in a safe, caring and inclusive community.

The role includes carrying out observations of the building at night. You will also be responsible for answering any emergency calls throughout your shift.

You will be expected to promote a positive, friendly and understanding attitude towards our customers and other colleagues in order to achieve consistency with the high levels of performance, efficiency and quality that is expected of our Employees.

Successful candidates will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS Check

What you will need:

As a Wake Night Support Worker, it is not essential for you to hold a formal qualification although an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social care is desirable. However you must be willing to work towards obtaining a relevant qualification and passionate about delivering a quality service to our tenants.

Given the environment you will be working in, you must be able to demonstrate effective communication, strong team working, organisational, interpersonal skills and maintaining high levels of confidentiality at all times. Taking responsibility for your own personal development, sharing knowledge and skills and learning from others within your team.

You must also be able to work on your own and as part of a team, have good interpersonal and communication skills and work flexibly on a rota basis to meet the needs of the service. This includes weekends and bank holidays.
