Exciting plans for new homes at Oswestry Leisure Centre site

The old Oswestry Leisure Centre site could soon have a new lease of life as affordable housing, if our plans are approved.

We have submitted a planning application for 46 new homes to be built on the site, which has become very run down. If approved, it will mean a mixture of two and three bedroom affordable homes for rent will be provided.

The proposed plans have received a lot of support, and if given the go-ahead, would mean the regeneration of the area as well as the provision of much-needed quality, modern, affordable homes. The site sits opposite to North Shropshire College, where the Trust recently sponsored the college football team with brand new kits.

Planned site

Planned siteThe Trust works with the communities in which it is building or hoping to build new homes, and has worked closely with local people and project groups to bring to fruition a number of other developments including Middleton Road and Bower Farm in St Martins.

If planning consentPlanned site is given, Jessup Build, who would be constructing the homes for the Trust, would start work on demolishing the site in the summer, and the new homes would be complete next year.

Sarah Bradshaw, who oversees a number of developments in the area for the Trust, said: "We have received good support for this scheme, and are keen to see work start on the site, as are many people and businesses in the area. The new homes would transform the site and provide fantastic new homes for local people."
