Chef gets the chop for charity

Chef Manager, John Taylor from Withywood ShireLiving scheme in Shrewsbury, will face the chop this weekend – all in the name of charity.

No, he’s not getting the sack, he’s sacrificing his luscious locks for a cause close to his heart.

John’s tresses, which he’s been growing for the past three years, will be donated to The Little Princess Trust, who provide wigs for children suffering hair loss after an illness.

The stunt will also raise money for the charity, and John hopes to reach £500 through donations, which will then be match-funded by The Wrekin Housing Trust.

John, who is currently on honeymoon with new wife Sacha following their wedding on September 1st, announced his hair-raising stunt to guests at their reception.

Before going on annual leave for his wedding, John said: “I’m announcing that I’ll be doing the fundraising haircut during our wedding reception and, hopefully, I’ll get lots of support from my family and friends.

“Who gets to wield the scissors is still undecided and I’m going to offer the honours to whoever gives the largest single donation. At the moment, it’s my mum, but that could all change on Saturday night!”

We will have to wait until John returns on Monday 24th, after the big chop, to find out who got the job, and how his fundraising is going.
