Community fund set to make a difference

The Wrekin Housing Group is welcoming new applications for its Community Fund.

The fund is aimed at making a difference to people’s lives through social value and by supporting and funding community led initiatives.

In recent years Wrekin has helped over 60 initiatives sharing over £60,000 of funding in support of community group activities in Telford & Wrekin, Shropshire and Staffordshire.

Dona Guy, Continuous Improvement Executive said:

“The COVID-19 pandemic has seen many restrictions introduced in recent months and this has changed the way in which community groups operate. Groups are facing challenges due to the costs of items such as PPE and digital equipment, needed to keep them running.

The Wrekin Community Fund can offer support to community led initiatives and applications to the fund are welcome.”

The Wrekin Community Fund is also open for employment initiatives. Assisting those looking for work or training for work is more important than ever and support for online courses is available. Wrekin is also keen to hear from groups who are working towards positive environmental initiatives.

The Group’s Community Fund is for people looking to help the community and benefit a significant proportion of tenants and residents. To view the criteria and make an application, please complete the form.
