Dementia Action Week 15 – 21 May 2023: Events near you

This week we’re taking part in Dementia Action Week, an awareness campaign from the Alzheimer’s Society.

This year’s theme “diagnosis” focuses on an important element of the disease.

"As well as misconceptions around memory loss being a normal part of ageing, we found being in denial and specialist referral times are the biggest barriers to getting people to seek a diagnosis.” - from Get Involved, Dementia Action Week Campaign.

Throughout the week our ShireLiving Schemes will be joined by the charity’s representatives, giving residents the chance to ask important questions around Dementia, Alzheimer’s and what support is available.
