Family thrilled with new home

New families have now moved into their homes on a new development in Lightmoor.

Brick Kiln Lane familyThe Trust’s new homes at Brick Kiln Lane, now called Railway View, have now been allocated to families and couples from the area.

One family who have recently moved in say that they are over the moon to be living on the new development, especially since they have a two-week old baby. Philippa Vidor and partner Chris Clayton have moved to a three-bedroom house with their daughter Elleah, age 4, and new baby Elexa.

The couple, who have moved from Sutton Hill and had only been in the house for a week before their new baby came along, say that they are thrilled with the new house. Philippa said: “We absolutely love it here, it’s really quiet and peaceful, in a great location and the house is modern as well as having a lovely secure garden for the kids, especially for Elleah as she loves to dance!”

The family’s new home is one of 36 affordable homes for rent by the Trust, all now allocated to new tenants. Linden Homes developed the site and built a further 36 homes for sale.

The Trust’s affordable homes include two and three bedroom family houses as well as one bedroom apartments, purposely built to help those affected by the ‘bedroom tax’ move to smaller properties. All of the properties were built to meet high levels of energy efficiency, resulting in cheaper bills for Trust residents.

As well as providing more homes to meet the demand for affordable housing in Telford & Wrekin, the Trust’s 36 homes generated over £10m worth of value to the economy and over 80 jobs including 3 apprenticeships on site.
