Get involved and help make a difference to the way we work

If you’re a Trust tenant who wants to have your say on the way we work, why not come along to find out about being part of our Tenants’ Panel? We’re looking for tenants across Telford & Wrekin, Shropshire and Staffordshire to be a voice for their fellow residents.

Tenants

The Tenants’ Panel has an influence on the way the Trust is run, and assists communication between tenants and managers at the Trust. We’ll be holding a ‘Getting to know you day’ on Friday 22nd April for anyone who is interested in getting involved. Come along to find out what it’s like to be on our Tenants’ Panel, meet the current members and ask them any questions you might have.

Friday 6th May is our selection process. If you’re interested in being on the Tenants’ Panel, this is when you will find out if you have been successful in being put forward for election. Once we have decided on the candidates, all tenants will be sent an election pack with information about those standing for election together with a ballot paper and freepost envelope which should be returned by Monday 3rd June.

David Lewis, Co-regulation Co-ordinator at the Trust, said: “It’s important that tenants have their say on the things that are most important to them. By standing for election and voting it enables our residents to have an input into what The Wrekin Housing Trust does. If you’re thinking about getting involved, please do!”

Being an involved tenant offers lots of personal benefits too; you will learn new skills that future employers will find attractive, meet new people and gain confidence in the process.

If you would like more information on how to get involved, or want to find out more about the getting to know you day, please call 01952 217181 or email getinvolved@wrekinhousingtrust.org.uk
