Guidance for Wrekin care home visits from Monday 8 March

Following the announcement that visitors will be welcome again at care homes from Monday 8 March, we will be implementing visiting procedures in line with government guidance.

These procedures are designed to ensure the safety of residents, their visitors and staff. You will need to contact the team at the care home to organise a time for your visit in advance.

Our staff will go through the requirements of the visit including the appropriate PPE, following infection control measures and rapid lateral flow tests. We realise that many people will be keen to see their loved ones, but close physical contact such as hugging is not permitted as contact increases the risk of transmission.

Full details on the government guidance are available on the gov.uk website and please check with our teams in advance if you have questions. Visiting may be cancelled at short notice and if advice from local Directors of Public Health changes.

Around 1 in 3 people with Covid-19 have no symptoms and could be spreading it without knowing it. We all need to play a role in reducing the spread of Covid-19. Doing this will help protect your family, your community and save lives:

  • Hands – Wash your hands regularly for at least 20 seconds
  • Face – Cover your face in indoor settings
  • Space – Staying 2m apart from others
