Letter to MPs - the value of social care

Today, Desmond Hudson, Chair of The Wrekin Housing Group; Jim Dickson, Chair of Choices; Wayne Gethings, Group Chief Executive; and Nigel Downs, Managing Director of Choices have written to local members of parliament asking them to address recent remarks made by the Prime Minister about care homes and their role during the Coronavirus crisis.

We believe the Prime Minister’s remarks unfairly devalues the social care sector and the work of all frontline care workers here at Choices, The Wrekin Housing Group and across the country.

We have called on them to promote a national conversation about social care, something that was needed even before the current crisis. We would like to thank all of our care staff and other key workers for their hard work and commitment always, and particularly during recent months.
