More Wrekin homes on their way

The development of 79 family homes for affordable rent was granted planning permission at yesterday's (Wednesday 4th March) Cannock Chase District Council planning committee meeting.

The 2, 3 and 4 bedroom properties on land between Wharf Road and Hardie Avenue, Rugeley, will be developed by Telford based The Wrekin Housing Group. The not for profit housing association prides itself on making a difference to people’s lives and already provides over 150 homes in and around Cannock and Rugeley.

Development Manager Steve Swann said “It is great to have achieved planning permission for this ambitious development, we look forward to working with Cannock Chase Borough Council, Staffordshire County Council, Homes England and Jessups to deliver these much needed family homes.”

Work is expected to start on site this spring with homes available for people to move in to next year.
