Trust celebrates National Apprenticeship Week!

The twelfth annual National Apprenticeship Week, co-ordinated by the National Apprenticeship Service, takes place this week.

Designed to celebrate the fantastic opportunities that apprenticeships bring to employers, the individuals undertaking them and the economy, National Apprenticeship Week also gives businesses and their apprentices the chance to demonstrate how apprenticeships are more than just a job by telling the story of how important they are to each other’s development.

Representatives from the Trust's Human Resources, Learning & Development, ICT and skilled maintenance teams will also be at The Apprenticeship Show this Thursday, 7th March, at the International Centre in Telford. There’ll be plenty of opportunities to get hands-on and have a go and find out how you could ‘Blaze a Trail’ with real career development through an apprenticeship.

Also at the event, the Trust will showcase its brand new partnership with The Marches Construction Ready training programme. Caroline Cowper, Construction Ready Project Co-Ordinator said: “We’re delighted to announce that we’ve now welcomed our first learners onto the free training programme here in Telford.”

“It’s a great opportunity for people who are aged 16+ and interested in construction to join the industry and learn valuable skills to become work, skills and site ready.” Anyone interested should register online at www.construction-ready.co.uk or call 01952 221465.

The Wrekin Housing Trust offers a number of different ways to get into the world of work, including work experience, 12 month work placements and volunteer opportunities. All vacancies are advertised on: wrekinht.org.uk/careers on our jobs portal here.
