Update – Local lockdowns and COVID-19 symptoms - Friday 21 August


Local lockdowns

COVID-19 continues to be a significant part of our lives. We are all reminded that the virus is still present, so please remain vigilant. Local lockdowns can occur anywhere in the country please check the relevant local authority website for latest information.

Cases in the Telford and Wrekin area have recently seen a rise and the council are asking people to act now and try to avoid a local lockdown. If you show any of the symptoms listed below, request a test straight away.

Symptoms

If you, or anyone in your household develops symptoms of COVID-19, it is very important that you request a test (online or by calling 119). You should also inform us if you or anyone in your household has symptoms when you are requesting a service, such as a repair, from us.

The main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are:

  • a high temperature
  • a new, continuous cough
  • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste

Updates and changes due to COVID-19 can occur at any time. The gov.uk website contains up to date information.

Everyone is reminded that we are all still required to stay alert and:

-Stay at home as much as possible
-Limit contact with other people and keep your distance (2m apart)
-Wash our hands often with soap for at least 20 seconds

-Wear a face mask/covering in all public indoor settings
