Wrekin puts homes at the heart to boost the economy
We are proud to champion communities across Telford & Wrekin, Shropshire and Staffordshire. Over the next five years we will be investing £295.3m to deliver over 2,300 new homes.
These homes will make a difference to the lives of everyone who lives in them, helps to build them, maintains or provides services to them, as well as to the wider community.
Investing in new affordable homes has positive impact on the economy locally and nationally. It creates jobs, and smart development can use it as a chance to benefit the local area, long after the construction work has stopped. For every £1m we spend on our development programme a new apprenticeship is created providing an excellent opportunity for that person and developing their skills for the benefit of everyone in the future.
As a socially minded organisation, we provide over 13,000 homes for affordable rent and low cost home ownership. Our ethos is to develop homes that truly benefit the local community and we have put in extra steps to make sure that it does.
Wrekin is supporting ‘Homes at the Heart’, a campaign from the National Housing Federation calling for a once-in-a-generation investment in social housing.
