Wrekin’s payroll team nominated for national award
The Wrekin Housing Group’s payroll team have nominated for a national award.
The team have been shortlisted for In-house Payroll Team of the Year at the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) Annual Excellence Awards.
The CIPP awards recognise the best in their field.
The nomination was for the team’s efforts in introducing a new integrated payroll system. Once a provider had been selected, the payroll team worked together to collate data, ensure the new system was accurate and to process parallel runs. The changes have made the team stronger and more resilient.

“I am delighted that our team has been shortlisted for this prestigious award. Their attitude towards all of the changes and extra workloads has been nothing short of incredible. Two of the team members are now enrolled onto CIPP courses to expand and cement their payroll knowledge and new team members have brought a wealth of experience that they are eager to share and use to strengthen the team further.”
The CIPP Annual Excellence Awards are the longest-running, independent awards in the industry. They were established to recognise the important role that payroll and pensions play in the UK economy; especially when you consider the £249 billion paid to the government through income tax and national insurance contributions.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Newport on 6 October.
