Carbon monoxide safety

It's important for us to make sure that every home has carbon monoxide detectors installed.

We will test all smoke/fire and carbon monoxide alarms during your annual safety check.

You'll find the detector at a high level in the room, usually near your boiler or gas fire if you have one.

It's crucial to know the warning signs of carbon monoxide, such as yellow flames in your boiler's pilot light, sooty stains near appliances, and slow-burning or extinguishing fires.

Exposure to carbon monoxide can cause symptoms like headaches, dizziness, nausea, stomach pain, difficulty breathing, vomiting, tiredness, and confusion.

If your carbon monoxide alarm goes off, please act immediately to keep yourself and other occupants safe.

Open all doors and windows, turn off all fuelburning appliances, and avoid using lights, smoking, or striking a match.

Leave your home and seek medical advice if you experience any symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning, and ring us immediately.

To reduce the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning, please allow us to access your home for annual gas safety checks, test your carbon monoxide detector monthly, and report any non-functioning detectors to us right away.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us on 01952 217217.
