Making the switch to Direct Debit

Making the switch to Direct Debit with Universal Credit

If your rent is currently paid direct to the Group from a benefit you receive, this will stop.

Universal Credit will be paid direct into your bank account and you will then be responsible for paying your full rent to the Group.

The easiest way to ensure your rent is paid on time is to switch to Direct Debit. Direct Debit is our customers preferred method of payment and with any day payment dates you can arrange for your rent to be paid the same day you receive your Universal Credit.

"If I can give any advice that would help other people on Universal Credit it would be to set up a Direct Debit. It’s the best thing I did, my rent gets paid and I’m not tempted to spend it on anything else!" Mrs A

"As we both work and have a very busy life, paying by Direct Debit means we have one less thing to worry about and gives us more time to spend doing things together as a family." Mrs E

"It’s great; we don't have to worry about remembering to pay as it’s all done automatically." Mr and Mrs B
