- Take part in an Equality Impact Assessment for new or updated policies

We’re looking for customers to join staff from across Wrekin to take part in Equality and Impact Assessments for our policies and policy reviews. If you are interested in taking part, please email getinvolved@wrekin.com

What is an Equality Impact Assessment (EIA)?

Some characteristics are protected by law and the 2010 Equality Act requires us to consider whether our service delivery or decisions will impact on people due to their:

  • Age
  • Disability
  • Gender Reassignment
  • Marriage or Civil Partnership
  • Pregnancy and maternity
  • Race
  • Religion or Belief
  • Sex
  • Sexual orientation.

At Wrekin, we complete an Equality Impact Assessment for all policies that impact on people, when they are being introduced, changed or reviewed. The main purpose of an Equality Impact Assessment is to ensure that our policies do not discriminate or affect some groups unfavourably. If they do, we won’t introduce the policy or we will take action to ensure that it is fair and accessible by all.

We will be holding EIAs for the below policies. The meetings will all take place online over Teams and last one hour.

  • Social Media Policy – 14 May, 2pm

  • Safeguarding Policy – 16 May, 2pm

If you are interested in taking part please email getinvolved@wrekin.com
