Paul is from the West Midlands and after university and early career in London moved back to Stourbridge, where he has lived for the past 30 years.

He has nearly 40 years’ experience across a range of sectors improving outcomes, developing value chains, and growing businesses. During the last 20 years he has undertaken a range of executive and non-executive director roles in social purpose organisations, with a particular focus on the children in care, education, mental health and learning disabilities fields.

Paul is currently an associate consultant with the Institute of Public Care, Oxford Brookes University and also provides advisory support on strategy, market and alliance development, and outcomes-based commissioning in the health and social care fields through his own advisory business.

He is passionate about raising aspirations and achieving social mobility, particularly for some of the most vulnerable people in society. He has been a University Governor with responsibility for widening participation; contributed to policy work on increasing the proportion of care leavers entering higher education; and has been an Institute of Directors business mentor for University of Wolverhampton undergraduates.
