Rights

Will my rights as a shared owner/ leaseholder be affected?

No, your rights will not be affected. The type of agreement that you hold with your landlord will not change.

Will Connexus purchase Wrekin Housing Groups share in my home?

Yes.

If I live in a flat, will Wrekin Housing Group sell the freehold of the block to Connexus?

Yes, if the freehold is owned by Wrekin Housing Group, otherwise the freehold ownership will stay the same.

I am in the process of selling my property. Will this transfer have any impact on this?

No, the process will have no effect, you will simply need to keep us updated.

What will happen to the personal information that Wrekin Housing Group holds on file about me?

All of the files held by Wrekin Housing Group with regard to your personal information and tenancy will be given to Connexus to assist them to evaluate its purchase. Wrekin Housing Group will ensure that the potential new landlord will keep your personal information secure and will only use your personal information for the purposes set out in the Data Protection Policy in relation to the management and administration of your property and in any event in accordance with the Data Protection Act.

Financial matters

Can Connexus increase any service charges that I pay?

Your Service Charges are based upon the actual cost of services provided to you. Connexus are bound in the same way as Wrekin Housing Group to ensure that those services are appropriate and as required by you, and are subject to a competitive process for pricing. Connexus can only recover the actual cost of services, plus an element for management, and as now, you have the right to challenge the cost and value of those services and the right to be consulted on changes to or the introduction of new services.

Will I be able to purchase a larger share in my property?

If you currently have the ability to buy a larger share then you will have exactly the same options when the landlord changes.

Maintenance

Will Connexus use the same maintenance arrangements?

No, but Wrekin Housing Group have sought a landlord with a good track record of delivering a high-quality maintenance service. They will deliver the service using their current arrangements.

Access to Services

Will Connexus be accessible?

Connexus have a range of ways in which you can contact them.

How do we know Connexus will be good and will stick to their promises?

Connexus are a Registered Provider of Social Housing or provide services through a Registered Provider. They therefore meet the same regulatory requirements as Wrekin Housing Group.

Connexus have be asked to demonstrate that they have met any promises that they have made to customers in other areas.

What do I do if I have a complaint?

Connexus like Wrekin must follow the Regulator’s Standards and ultimately this means if we do not put things right, you can make a complaint to the Housing Ombudsman.
