C19 update - face coverings - Friday 24 July

As lock down continues to ease it is important to remember we are still living in uncertain times. The potential for local outbreaks of COVID-19 remains very real and significant.

Face coverings

Face coverings are already required when travelling on public transport and from today, must also be worn in shops and supermarkets. Measures can be put in place for those that do not comply with the new law, including fines of up to £100.

You can find more detailed information and guidance on face coverings here. Suggestions of ideas for making your own face covering is also available.

Wrekin staff

The teams at Wrekin delivering services in and around people’s homes continue to do so in a COVID secure way. From next Monday, face coverings will be mandatory for Wrekin staff in customer facing roles.

When visiting your home, we will ask if you or anyone in your home is self-isolating, shielding or has symptoms of COVID-19. We will also ask you to keep to a social distance, this enables our trades to get on with their work in a safe environment while also keeping you safe.

If you, or anyone in your household develops symptoms of COVID-19, it is very important that you request a test (online or by calling 111). You should also inform us if you or anyone in your household has symptoms when you are requesting a service, such as a repair.

Everyone is reminded that we are all still required to stay alert and:

- Stay at home as much as possible
- Limit contact with other people and keep your distance (2m apart)
- Wash our hands often with soap for at least 20 seconds

Please continue to check our website and social media channels for updates and further information. If you would like to receive information directly you can sign up for email updates at coronavirus@wrekin.com

We will continue to update you on the latest government advice on COVID-19, but do check the gov.uk website in the first instance for the most up-to-date information
